How can I host this course for our employees?

We make it easy for you by supporting more options for hosting. Our courses support most types of of Learning Management Systems (LMS) including:

  • Your company's SCORM-compliant LMS.
  • Your company's AICC-compliant LMS.
  • Your company's proprietary LMS (with custom course modifications)
  • Stand-alone on your company's server.
  • Any of several 3rd party LMS vendors (We can help locate one that's suitable for you.)

If your course will run stand-alone, why do I need a Learning Management System?

If you are subject to a security audit, you will need to produce reports that show the percentage of employees (and contractors) who have taken the course each year. Hosting your course on an LMS makes reporting easy:

  • Students must log in and identify themselves to the LMS.
  • The LMS records the following for each student:
    • Time spent in the course
    • Quiz scores
    • Satisfactory completion

Are there special hosting requirements that I should look for?

Mandatory training like security awareness training does have special hosting requirements, and not all LMS solutions have the capacity to handle more than a few thousand students. eLearning Corner has supported clients with 50,000 students and fully supported all the key reporting and tracking necessary. Here are a few items you should insist upon for your hosting solution:

  • Your LMS must have the ability to send reminder emails to INCOMPLETED students.
  • Your LMS should not buckle and die if more than a few hundred INCOMPLETED students are in the email queue. eLearning Corner can email any number of students with a click. All email activity is scheduled in the background.
  • Employees will come and go. A secure automated methodology to add, update, and delete students is needed so you will not be tied to a web interface for updates.
  • Students should be able to verify their completion status without having to take the course or be trained in LMS reporting.
  • Audit reports showing department completion statistics should be easily accessible without undue complexity.
  • Reports of incompleted users, by department, should be easily accessible.
  • LMS reports for audits should not tax the LMS resources when tens of thousands of employees are involved.
  • Is your LMS running on a server with 24x7 support? Full RAID and power redundancy?
  • Students should be able to login and take their mandatory training without navigating a maze of courses in a library. eLearning Corner provides a dedicated URL which will navigate students automatically to the proper course.

A good LMS will provide a company-wide completion report of your IT Security Awareness course for your compliance audit.

We hope this is helpful for you. If you have any further questions, please contact us.
